About Therapy

2482883475Such awful things happen to us…

I know. My story is one of childhood abuse, homelessness, domestic violence, divorce, jail, and… let me see… yeah, that about wraps it up.

Trauma alters the course of our lives, lodging itself deep in our minds and bodies. It’s difficult:

To trust…

To compose your emotions…

To sustain fulfilling relationships…

Trauma and its painful cycles…

You end up trying to distract yourself from the hurt… or self-sabotaging yourself because of all the shame, guilt, resentment, and anger you’re carrying.

Again… I know.

I became a therapist because I wanted to support those who are hurting most – those who desperately want a path to healing and health but don’t see a way forward.

2299688971Therapy is the answer.

Pain taught me a lot, but my therapy journey is what equipped me to build a life worth living.

It’s also what taught me how to be in fulfilling instead of toxic relationships.

All the tools I got in therapy that helped me turn my life around…

I’m going to share them with you!

Our work is creating inner harmony.

Right now, your inner environment probably feels like a Civil War reenactment. I get it!

And if you’re like me, you feel a little embarrassed that you can’t quiet the shouting and the cannon fire. It seems like one of those adult skills we should just be able to do.

Well… it’s not. For most of us, it doesn’t come naturally. We need some guidance and direction.

Let’s take a look at what’s most important in your life – what you value, what you want, and how you want to get there.

That’ll give us a roadmap that will keep your mind and body grounded, even when the mind wants to get chaotic.

2585315721It takes guts to spill your guts.

It’s not always easy to let someone walk beside you – to let someone witness your pain.

But when you do, it’s cathartic and healing!

I see your courage, and I’ll celebrate all your wins with you as you make progress in therapy.

It’s time to get off the fence about this.

You know you want to talk about these things with a professional.

Now couldn’t be a better time.

In fact, it’s pretty cool these days to have a therapist. I would love to find out if that is me!

Call today, and we’ll start with your free 20-minute consultation: (385) 576-9117.

About Stephanie Edsall, LCSW

StephanieI’m battle-tested!

My life started out being born too early and rather sick. In fact, the prognosis was pretty grim. For ten agonizing months, the medical staff at Primary Children’s Hospital did their absolute best. Having given up hope, they told my parents to take me home for what little time I had left to live.

But I made it!

My road to the profession…

In spite of a rough start (and rough life thereafter), I graduated from the University of Utah in 2019 with my Master of Social Work (MSW) and became a clinically licensed social worker in 2021.

Given the trials and tribulations I’ve faced in life, I consider it a major accomplishment!

When I’m not doing therapy…

I’m an avid lover of the earth, animals (especially dogs), and my children. I dream of having a farm one day. There’s just something about being in the natural world. It doesn’t matter what season it is… I’ll always answer the “call of the wild”!

I also have a passion for cooking. I enjoy hosting gatherings with savory aromas floating through the house.
